The weather is as still and unchanging as the days. At least we are stuck with a vibrant spring and not the incessant smudge of a miserable winter.
In these warm days a walk early in the woods is refreshingly cool. Though busy with whizzing cyclists and puffing runners. This is great even if you have to get up and out earlier and earlier to find solitude. Many of these look like new rather than regular participants in these activities. I hope they’ve discovered the joy of the trail.
The edges of the trails are now sprinkled with the late spring flowering honeysuckle and rhododendrons.
The bright flashes of purple fill the shady woodland with bursts of colour but the pale milky honeysuckle is more subtle and elegant.
