Still it rains. The water falls out of the leaden skies then it oozes back up from the saturated ground and and gathers into expanding puddles, cupped by mud.
Today was the state opening of Parliament. Pageantry but not much pomp. We are apparently embarking on a new golden age.
It doesn’t feel like it when you are this sodden and when the sun barely lifts the day into light. You can see why spring elections are preferable. Some of us still fear the coming constitutional revolution. It felt apt that as dark fell the rain increased and the skies filled with thunder and lightening.
